Because of government repression in Poland, the new Pope, John Paul II, has threatened to resign his papacy.
In Moscow, another man is contemplating the very same document. Yuriy Andropov, the chairman of the KGB, does not like what he reads, does not like what it means for him or for his nation. Red Rabbit Book Reviews

Excellent book, very well written, great pacing.

Great Read
Great intro into field ops for the young Jack Ryan. I erroneously listened to another website’s recommendation to not read this book in the precise order it was written in. This is a great read. It follows Patriot Games and precedes Cardinal of the Kremlin.

More like Red Turtle
This is very unlike Clancy’s other books. The amount of detail in every scene makes this a very tedious and slow read. Some things are said 2 or 3 times in different ways. I’m struggling to get past page 300. If 2/3rds or even half the verbage were removed it might be a good book.

Very Realistic
It's a great "what if" and keeps you hanging until the end.

Too much fun
As usual more real than outrageous true life.
